13X Molecular sieve is primarily used for refinements of liquids and gases. Its pore size is roughly 10 angstroms which is considerably larger than any of the type A sieves. It can adsorb all molecules that can be adsorbed by 3A, 4A, and 5A sieves. Type 13X can also adsorb molecules such as aromatics and branched-chain hydrocarbons, which have large critical diameters.

It has become one of the most reliable desiccants for a variety of applications including:

• Air refining by removing carbon dioxide and water
• Oxygen PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) process
• Removal of grease and solvents
• Removal of mercaptans and hydrogen sulphide from natural gas using patented Zeochem technology
