4A Molecular Sieve is primarily used for removing moisture from liquids and gases. The advantages of 4A molecular sieve is consistent adsorption speed and higher contamination resistance, increasing cyclic times that provide an extended product life. Its pore size of 4A means any molecule larger than 4 angstroms will not be adsorbed. It will adsorb molecules such as oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide and straight chain hydrocarbons. Aromatics and branched chain hydrocarbons will not be adsorbed.
It has become one of the most reliable desiccants for a variety of applications including:
- Refrigerant Drying
- Moisture removal in PU Plastic or Paint
- Natural Gas Drying
- Drying Cracked Gas
- Static drying of insulating glass units, whether air filled or gas-filled.
- Dehydration of highly polar compounds, such as methanol and ethanol.
- Dehydration of unsaturated hydrocarbons (e.g. ethylene, propylene, butadiene).
